RBC Capital Markets has appointed Simon Johnson as Managing Director, Head of EMEA Credit Sales.

As part of his role, Johnson will oversee sales to RBC Investment Grade and High Yield Credit clients in Europe.

Before joining Credit Suisse, he was a repo trading assistant at Goldman Sachs.

“This is an important hire as the company continues to grow its lending business in Europe, expand its customer base and drive revenue growth in the region,” RBC said in a statement announcing the Johnson’s appointment.

“Over his career, he has built trusting relationships with his clients by exemplifying strong values of partnership and collaboration, which will allow him to transition smoothly into his role at RBC.

Johnson’s appointment follows that of Michael Chesterton, who joined RBC as head of sales and execution for European futures and listed options earlier this year.

Chesterton joins the firm from ED&F Man Capital Markets, where he was responsible for multi-asset futures and options sales and execution. Prior to that, he held senior positions at Nomura and RBS Markets and International Banking.
